What generative engine optimisation is, and how it differs from SEO
A generative engine does not retrieve a page and hand it over. It reads a set of sources and writes something new out of them. Generative engine optimisation is the work of making sure your business is in that source set, described correctly, and confident enough to be named.
SEO was built for retrieval. It asks which page deserves position three. GEO is built for synthesis. It asks whether a machine reading everything available about your city can assemble a correct, confident sentence about you. Those are different questions, and they reward different things.
- Retrieval rewards depth on one URL. Synthesis rewards agreement across many sources.
- Retrieval tolerates ambiguity, because the human resolves it. Synthesis punishes it, because a machine that cannot resolve a contradiction leaves you out.
- Retrieval is measured in positions. Synthesis is measured in mentions, which is why every scorecard we send is a count of questions you were named in.
This is also why the usual SEO scoreboard misleads. Semrush found the pages ChatGPT cites rank at position 21 or worse in Google almost 90 percent of the time (Semrush, Jul 2025). Page one is not the qualifying round for the answer.
GEO, AEO and AI SEO
GEO names the machine, answer engine optimisation names the target, AI search optimisation names the surface, and AI SEO is the umbrella everyone actually says out loud. The deliverables are the same. GEO is how we work, not what we are: we are an SEO agency in Dubai, and the groundwork under every generative answer is local SEO in Dubai. A GEO agency quoting a different price from an AEO agency is pricing a label.
How generative engines decide who to name
Every generative engine has to ground its answer in something it can point at, because an answer it cannot support is a liability. Grounding is where a local business wins or loses.
- ChatGPT reaches the live web through Bing, so your Bing Places listing and a cleanly indexed site decide whether you are in the material the answer is written from.
- Google AI Mode grounds in Google's index and Google Business Profile, so categories, hours, service area, reviews and your own structured data are what it has to work with.
- Perplexity shows its citations, so a page that states the fact plainly gets linked and a page that hints at it gets skipped.
The pattern across all three is agreement. When your site, your profiles and the directories all say the same thing, a machine can state it confidently. When they disagree about your hours, your address or even your name, the safe move is to name somebody else, and it does. Our guide on what AI reads in Perplexity goes through the citation side in detail.
What a GEO agency does month to month
GEO work is unglamorous and repetitive, which is the point. There is no lever that fires once. The businesses that hold the answer are the ones that kept publishing and kept their record straight while everyone else waited to see if AI was a fad.
- Rewrite and restructure so each service has its own page that answers one question completely, with prices as ranges in plain text.
- Add and maintain LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ structured data so the same facts exist in a form a machine parses without guessing.
- Fix the record on Google Business Profile, Bing Places and the profiles cited for your field, in English and Arabic, then keep it fixed.
- Publish 2 to 4 new answer pages a month against the questions buyers really ask, not the keywords a tool suggests.
- Run a review engine so recent, readable reviews keep arriving instead of stopping after the push.
- Re-run the 10 agreed prompts every 30 days and send the dated screenshots and the scorecard.
What you get
Everything for AED 4,000 a month. Nothing sold separately.
A GEO engagement is one retainer covering all of it. No setup fee, no separate content package, no per-page pricing, because splitting the work into modules is a billing decision rather than a method.
- 10-prompt AI visibility baseline with screenshots
- AI-readable website fixes, or a rebuild (up to 10 pages) if needed
- LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ structured data
- Google Business Profile and Bing Places overhaul
- Bilingual NAP consistency: your name, address and phone matching in English and Arabic across listings
- Copy that respects your regulator's advertising rules, with permit and licence numbers shown where they are required
- Profile alignment on the sources AI cites for your field, such as Property Finder and Bayut, Doctify and Trustpilot
- 2 to 4 new pages a month answering real customer questions
- Review request engine (we draft everything)
- Monthly re-run of your 10 prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode
- Simple monthly scorecard: named in 7 of 10, up from 1
- Only a few clients per industry in each city, spread across different areas, for as long as you stay
- Everything we build stays yours, even if you leave or take the refund
Who this is for
Who generative engine optimisation is for
Local businesses whose buyers ask a question before they choose a name, and where one customer is worth enough that a few of them cover the year. If your customers find you by walking past, this is not for you.
- Business setup consultants and real estate brokerages: the two fields already paying most to be found.
- Every industry we work in: one page per trade, with the buyer question we target.
- We decline markets we cannot win, including cities where one business already owns the answer.
Pricing
One plan. One price.
AED 4,000/ month(about USD 1,000)
3-month minimum as it takes time to show results, then month to month. Cancel anytime after.
- The full monthly build and the monthly 10-prompt measurement
- Named by AI in 90 days, or every dirham back
- Only a few clients per industry in each city, spread across different areas
- Site and content are yours to keep
GEO is priced the same as everything else we do: AED 4,000 a month, 3-month minimum because it takes time to show results, then month to month. There is no premium for the acronym.
- What counts as a pass
- Your business is named in at least 5 of the 10 questions on at least 2 of the 3 tools by day 90.
- If we miss
- You get 100% of the 3 months back, and you keep the website, pages, listings and everything else we built.
