What happens when someone asks AI about a hair transplant
This is a research heavy decision made mostly by people who are not in the room. They ask whether the UAE or another country is the better choice, what a case of a given size costs, how long recovery takes, and who does it well. The assistant answers in a paragraph and names a few clinics.
In our checks, the top slot on Dubai hair transplant queries was held by a clinic blog published outside the UAE, not by a local clinic. On Abu Dhabi queries a booking and review directory held position one. Local clinics were being described by other people rather than describing themselves.
Dubai had approximately 5,800 licensed health facilities in 2025 (Dubai Media Office, February 2026). No published count of hair transplant clinics exists that we could verify, so we do not quote one.
Readable, verified and trusted
Three legs, and this category usually fails on the third because its marketing leans on promises rather than evidence.
Readable
One page per technique: follicular unit extraction, direct hair implantation, beard restoration, eyebrow restoration, non surgical hair loss treatment. Real text, fast on a phone.
Verified
The same clinic name, address, phone and treatment list on Google Business Profile, Bing Places and the health listings that carry you, with surgeons named under their licensed titles.
Trusted
Reviews that describe the procedure and the follow up, surgeon bios with qualifications and licences, and before and after material that meets the imaging rules.
Fix them in that order. A gallery with no readable text is the most common failure in this category.
Step one: Google Business Profile
Statcounter put Google at 95.8% of UAE search in August 2026, and Google AI Mode has run here in English and Arabic since October 2025 (Google, October 2025). The profile is also the safest place to be specific, because it holds structured facts rather than persuasion.
Category and services
Hair transplant clinic as primary, then each technique listed separately using its clinical name.
District
Jumeirah, Business Bay, Dubai Healthcare City, Al Maryah Island, Al Majaz. Patients and assistants both narrow by district.
Surgeons, described correctly
Use the title on the licence. Invented specialty titles are named as not permitted in the Dubai Health Authority standards.
The questions section
Seed it with the real ones: what the consultation involves, how graft counts are assessed, what aftercare looks like.
The citation spine for hair transplant in the UAE
Unusually for UAE healthcare, third parties already hold the top slots here. That makes placement possible, and it also means a clinic that does nothing will keep being summarised by strangers.
Doctify
Held position one on Abu Dhabi hair transplant queries in our checks. The strongest genuine UAE booking and review directory in this category.
Google Business Profile and Maps
The local surface, and where review volume gets read.
Medical travel aggregators
MediGence and similar platforms own the compare two countries question that this audience actually runs. An accurate entry matters more here than in any other industry we work in.
RealSelf
Procedure level credibility that surfaced in our cosmetic and restoration checks.
Gulf News and Khaleej Times health desks
Cost and regulation stories, which is where an assistant reaches for context.
Your own technique pages
Still the foundation. Third party placement only helps when the page it points at can be read.
Bilingual details and schema
Your clinic name, address and phone should read the same in English and Arabic on every listing that carries both, with the +971 code everywhere. This category has a high rate of rebrands and shared premises, so old names on old listings are common and they split your signal.
Add MedicalClinic structured data with the legal name, the address including the emirate, the phone, hours and areaServed, MedicalProcedure entries per technique, Physician entries per surgeon, and FAQPage markup on the question blocks.
The pages an assistant lifts from
Cost is the first question and it is answerable. Published UAE package ranges put 1,000 grafts at AED 8,000 to 25,000 and larger cases of 3,500 grafts or more at AED 40,000 to 70,000 or above (Healthfinder cost guide, April 2025), while a second source puts a typical follicular unit extraction case around AED 15,000 and a typical direct implantation case around AED 22,000 (Zavis cost guide, April 2026). The two sources disagree on rate per graft, so we never quote one.
One page per technique
What it is, who it suits, how the assessment works, what the procedure day involves, what the risks are.
A cost page built on case size
Bands by graft range, what is included, what is charged on top, and the caveat your regulator requires where prices are advertised.
A recovery and aftercare page
Written carefully. The standards restrict referring to recovery time in ways that may lead to unrealistic expectations, so describe the stages and the variability rather than promising a date.
A surgeon page each
Qualification, licence, technique, languages and years of practice.
A comparison page
The UAE against other destinations, written factually on cost, travel, follow up access and regulation. This is the single most searched decision in the category and it is currently answered by people outside the country.
Reviews and the claims you cannot make
Federal guidance prohibits expressions that mean stability or a lasting effect, including permanent, life-long, does not change, get rid completely and will not come back (International Bar Association UAE healthcare survey, 2024). That removes the standard headline in this category, and it also removes it from review replies and captions.
Ask for reviews that describe the process instead: the assessment, the day, the follow up appointments, how questions were answered. Those are usable in an AI answer, and they do not depend on a claim you are not allowed to make.
Semrush found the pages ChatGPT cites rank 21st or worse in ordinary search almost 90% of the time (Semrush, July 2025), which is how a foreign blog can hold the answer while local clinics rank at home.
