What AI Mode is, and where it is live
AI Mode is Google answering the question itself, in prose, with a few sources beside it. Google announced its expansion to more than 35 new languages and over 40 new countries, taking it past 200 countries and territories in total, and Arabic is in the language list (Google, October 2025). Before that, AI Overviews became broadly available across MENA and in Arabic in May 2025 (Google, May 2025).
So the answer for your service in your city is already being written, in both languages, whether or not you have looked at it. And with 95.8% of UAE search on Google (Statcounter, August 2026), there is no second channel that matters as much.
What the answer is built from
For a local question the ingredients are the ones Google already has, plus whatever it can read on the open web while it composes the answer.
- The Google Business Profile: category, address, hours, services, photos and the description
- Reviews, their recency and what they say in words, not only the star average
- Your website, if it says the service and the city plainly and carries structured data
- The wider web: news, listings and industry sites that mention you and describe what you do
Notice what is missing. Ad spend is not on the list. Nor is your social following. A business with a thin profile and a beautiful Instagram grid is easy to miss and hard to verify, which is a bad combination when the answer only has room for four or five names.
What one of our screens looks like
On 8 September 2026 we asked Google AI Mode the question "best dental clinic in Dubai" from a fresh logged-out session, and it named 6 businesses. Being in that list is not a quality judgement and the answer changes, which is why we date every screenshot.
That is the whole market for that question on that day: 6 names in Dubai. Every other dental clinic in the city was invisible for it, however good it is and whatever it spends on ads.
Every market we have published is in the UAE AI Visibility Index, with the date of each screen. Markets we have not screened yet say so rather than guessing.
How to get into it
- Complete the Business Profile properly: the right primary category, every service listed, real opening hours, and the emirate in the address
- Publish one page per service per city, with the price in AED and the questions buyers actually ask answered in plain sentences
- Add LocalBusiness structured data so the machine reads facts rather than guessing them from prose. See LocalBusiness schema for UAE businesses
- Keep new reviews coming in every month, and reply to them in the language they were written in
- Publish an Arabic version of the pages that matter, because the answer is written in Arabic too
Watch it, do not guess at it
AI Mode answers move. The only way to know where you stand is to ask the same questions from a fresh logged-out session on the same day each month and keep the dated screenshots. That is exactly what we do for the markets in the index, and what the free check does for yours.
What it does to your traffic
Fewer clicks, better clicks. About 60% of searches now end without the user going through to any website (Bain and Company, February 2025). At the same time, shoppers who do arrive from an AI answer converted 54% better than traffic from every other source in Adobe's analysis of retail sites (Adobe Analytics via Digital Commerce 360, June 2026).
Read those two together and the strategy writes itself. The traffic you lose was mostly people who were never going to buy. The traffic you keep is people who arrived already convinced, because a machine they trust named you. That is worth more than the ten blue links ever were.
The five reasons a business is left out
When we screen a market and a well known business is missing from the answer, the cause is almost always one of five things, and none of them is the quality of the work.
- The Business Profile is half filled in: no services, no description, a category that describes the building rather than the business
- The details disagree. The site says one address, the profile says another, an old listing says a third, so nothing can be verified
- The website has no page for the service being asked about, only a services list with fourteen bullet points
- There is no price anywhere, so every price question in the market goes to somebody else
- The reviews stopped two years ago, which reads as a business that has moved on
Each of those is a half day of work at most. That is the uncomfortable part. The businesses winning these answers in the markets we have screened are not doing anything clever, they are doing the ordinary things completely.
There is one more that is specific to this market. Most sites we open have no Arabic version at all. Google has answered in Arabic since October 2025, half the questions in these cities can be asked in Arabic, and an English-only site gives the answer nothing to quote when they are.
