Doing it yourself: what it really costs
Nothing in these guides needs a licence, a tool subscription or an agency. What it needs is attention, in a specific order, kept up every month.
- Half a day: claim and complete the Google Business Profile and Bing Places
- Half a day: make the name, address and +971 number identical everywhere, in English and Arabic
- One day: add LocalBusiness structured data and write or fix your two most important service pages, with AED prices
- Two hours a month: ask for reviews, reply to all of them
- One hour a month: run the 10 questions in three tools and file the dated screenshots
That is the honest bill: about two days to start, three hours a month to keep. If your time is worth AED 300 an hour, the first month costs you roughly AED 5,700 of your own time, and you learn the market while you do it. Plenty of owners should take that deal.
What agencies here publish
There is no independent price benchmark for this work in the UAE, so every figure below comes from an agency's own published price page. Treat them as asking prices, not as research, and note we are quoting competitors on their own numbers.
- SEO for a growing SME: AED 3,000 to 8,000 a month, agency-published (Skimbox, June 2026)
- Brokerage portal spend on Property Finder plus Bayut: AED 6,000 to 25,000 a month, agency-published (Groovyweb, August 2026)
- Digital marketing for a single clinic: AED 15,000 to 40,000 a month, agency-published (Digisoftrank, July 2026)
The brokerage line is the interesting one. Those portals are paid to put a brokerage in front of a buyer who is choosing. That is the same job an AI answer now does, for free, for whoever is named in it.
What we charge, and what is in it
AED 4,000 a month, about USD 1,000. A 3-month minimum because the work takes that long to show, then month to month. We work with only a few clients per industry in each city, spread across different areas, so no two of our clients compete for the same neighbourhood's answer.
- The 10 agreed buyer prompts, measured monthly in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode with dated screenshots
- Website fixes for readability, or a rebuild if the site cannot be fixed
- LocalBusiness and Service structured data across the site
- Google Business Profile and Bing Places overhaul, and bilingual listing consistency
- Profiles on the sources answer engines actually cite in your industry
- Two to four new answer pages a month, written to your regulator's rules
- A review engine, so the flow of recent reviews does not depend on you remembering
The guarantee
Pass means named in 5 of the 10 agreed prompts on 2 of the 3 tools by day 90. If we miss it, you get every dirham back. The full wording is on the guarantee page, including what counts as a pass and what happens next.
How to decide
Do it yourself if you have someone in the business who will own it every month, and if your market is still open. Hire someone if the answer in your market already has a name in it that keeps coming back, or if nobody in your business will keep the monthly routine going after week three.
Either way, start with the measurement, because it tells you which of those two you are in. Our free AI visibility check runs the 10 questions for your service and city and sends the screenshots, with no call required. If your market is not winnable we will say so and you pay nothing.
What the money is actually buying
Not traffic. About 60% of searches now end without anyone clicking through to a website (Bain and Company, February 2025), so a plan that sells you sessions is selling a shrinking thing. What is left is being the name inside the answer.
What arrives instead is smaller and better qualified. Traffic from AI sources converted 54% better than traffic from other sources in Adobe's analysis (Adobe Analytics via Digital Commerce 360, June 2026), and Semrush valued the average visitor from a large language model at 4.4 times an ordinary organic search visitor (Semrush, July 2025). Those are not UAE specific studies, and we quote them as the global evidence they are.
Questions to ask anyone you hire
This is a young service and the words are being used loosely. Five questions will tell you quickly whether you are talking to somebody who does the work or somebody who renamed an old package.
- Which exact questions will you measure, and will they be agreed in writing before we start?
- Which tools, and will the checks be run from fresh logged-out sessions with dated screenshots?
- What does the report look like in month one, and does it show named-in-answers rather than rankings?
- Do you work with any other business in my industry in my city, and will you say so in writing?
- What happens if it does not work, and is that written into the agreement?
Ask about compliance too, especially in healthcare and property. Whoever writes your content has to work inside your regulator's advertising rules and the UAE advertiser rules (UAE Government, media regulation). An agency that has never heard of the permit regime is going to write you something you have to take down.
