What happens when someone asks AI for a fit-out company
The question arrives whole. We bought a four bedroom villa in Jumeirah, we want to renovate the kitchen and two bathrooms, who does this and what will it cost. The assistant replies with a paragraph and two to five companies by name.
There are over 1,500 registered fit-out companies in the UAE, a mix of regional and international players, with the largest names being diversified groups rather than fit-out specialists (GlobeNewswire, February 2026). Almost none of them publish the facts an assistant needs.
The value per answer is the highest of any industry we work in. One operator rate card puts a 4,000 square foot villa at AED 880,000 to 1,400,000 at standard to premium finish (Zia Luxury cost guide, July 2026, an operator published rate card rather than a survey). One won project changes a year.
Readable, verified and trusted
Three legs, and this industry usually breaks the first by publishing a portfolio with no words in it.
Readable
Pages for each project type you take: villa renovation, apartment fit-out, office fit-out, restaurant and cafe, retail, joinery. Real text under the photographs, not a gallery with captions.
Verified
The same company name, address, phone and services on your site, Google Business Profile, Bing Places and any trade or portfolio profile, plus your licence and approvals stated in plain text.
Trusted
Reviews that describe the project, a team page with real names, and a site updated this year. Al Quoz addresses and workshop photographs help: they say you are a builder, not a broker.
Fix them in that order. A beautiful portfolio with no readable text is invisible to an assistant.
Step one: Google Business Profile
Statcounter put Google at 95.8% of UAE search in August 2026, and Google AI Mode has been live here in English and Arabic since October 2025 (Google, October 2025). For a fit-out company the profile is also where a nervous client checks that you exist as a physical business.
Category and services
Interior fit-out contractor or interior designer as primary, then services one by one: villa renovation, office fit-out, joinery, MEP coordination, turnkey design and build.
The district and the workshop
Business Bay, Al Quoz, Mussafah, the Sharjah industrial areas. If you have your own joinery workshop, say where it is and show it.
Photos with captions
Project photos with the type, the area and the scope written underneath. The caption is the part a model can read.
The questions section
Seed it: how long a villa fit-out takes, who handles the authority approvals, whether you work to a fixed price.
The citation spine for fit-out in the UAE
This is the softest spine of any industry we studied. No editorial gatekeeper held the answer in our checks, and the ranking pages were mostly operators ranking themselves. That makes a genuinely rigorous cost resource the highest leverage asset available.
Commercial Interior Design
The trade title that publishes the Fit-Out Firm Power List, the closest thing to an authority ranking in this market and the single highest value placement.
Google Business Profile and Maps
The universal signal, and the surface most fit-out companies neglect entirely.
Dubai Design Week and the design event ecosystem
Entity credibility. Being listed as a participant is a fact a model can attach to your name.
Property Finder and Bayut editorial
Both cover renovation and fit-out cost questions for the homeowner audience, which is exactly the query you want.
Houzz
A portfolio surface a model can resolve into a company, with project descriptions rather than just images.
Behance and Instagram
Useful for portfolio depth, weak for citation. Treat them as evidence, not as the strategy.
Bilingual details and schema
Your company name, address and phone should match in English and Arabic across every listing that carries both, with the +971 code everywhere. Contracting companies often trade under a short name and license under a longer legal one, and both spellings end up scattered across listings. Pick the pair that matches the licence and use it everywhere.
Add LocalBusiness or GeneralContractor structured data with the legal name, the address including the emirate, the phone, hours and areaServed, Service entries per project type, and FAQPage markup on your question blocks. It removes doubt, which is what keeps most companies out of the answer.
The pages an assistant lifts from
Cost is the question. Published ranges give villa construction and finishing at AED 300 to 500 per square foot for standard work and AED 900 to 1,400 for luxury (Engel and Voelkers construction cost resource, stated 2025 to 2026), with fit-out only work from about AED 200,000 for basic interiors. Publish your own ranges and say what changes them.
A cost per square foot page
The single highest leverage page in this industry. Show the bands, show what moves a project between them, and show what is excluded. Nobody has built a good one.
One page per project type
Villa renovation, apartment fit-out, office fit-out, food and beverage, retail, joinery. Each with a real project described in words.
An approvals page
Which authority approvals a project needs, who obtains them and roughly how long they take. Do I need approval for a villa renovation is a genuine buyer question.
A team page
Project managers, designers, the joinery lead. Names and years, not stock photography.
An FAQ block on each page
Timelines, payment stages, snagging, warranty, what happens when the client changes their mind mid project.
Case studies are worth more here than anywhere else, provided they contain numbers, area, scope and duration rather than adjectives.
Reviews that describe the project
They fitted out our 1,200 square foot apartment in Business Bay in eleven weeks and handled the approvals is a sentence a model can use. Great work, highly recommended, is not. Ask at handover, in writing, with a direct link, and ask clients to name the project type and the area.
Reply to every review as a company, and never publish a client's address or budget in a reply.
Semrush found the pages ChatGPT cites rank 21st or worse in ordinary search almost 90% of the time (Semrush, July 2025). Ranking and being named are different jobs.
