The working
From basic salary to overtime pay
Hourly basic wage. Monthly basic salary divided by the days in the pay month, then by the normal hours in a day. AED 6,000 over 30 days of 8 hours is AED 25 an hour.
Daytime overtime. Hourly basic plus at least a quarter: AED 25 becomes AED 31.25 an hour.
Night and rest day. Hourly basic plus at least half: AED 37.50 an hour in the same example.
These are the legal minimums for the private sector. Managers and some other roles fall outside the working hours rules, and a contract or clinic policy can pay more. For a disputed case, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation is the authority.
