Business setup consultants guide

How to get your business setup firm recommended by ChatGPT in the UAE

The master guide. What the assistants read about a setup firm, and the order to fix it in.

Published 9 September 2026 by Curious Mind Labs FZCO. AED 4,000 a month, 3-month minimum as it takes time to show results, named by AI in 90 days or every dirham back.

Short answer

AI assistants name the firms they can read, check and match to the question. To be one of them, your site has to say in plain text which licences you handle, in which emirate, what the work costs and who your people are. Your details have to match on Google Business Profile and on the free zone and review pages the models reach for, and your reviews have to name the actual job.

None of that is advertising. It is a set of facts stated the same way everywhere, which is exactly what a model needs before it will put your name in a sentence.

64% of working age people in the UAE used AI at the end of 2025, the highest share of any country (Microsoft AI Economy Institute, January 2026). The founder who used to click a paid ad for a Dubai trade licence is now reading one paragraph that names three firms.

What the assistant is doing when someone asks who to set up with

People do not type two words any more. They type the whole situation: I am a freelance designer in London, I want a Dubai licence and a residence visa, who should I use. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Mode answer in one screen with a short paragraph and two to five firms by name.

To write that paragraph the model needs facts it can state without hedging: which free zones and which mainland activities you file for, where your office is, what a package includes, and whether other people say the filing went through. It collects them from websites, business listings and reviews. When it cannot find them for you, it names a firm where it can.

So this is not a contest about who runs the better firm. It is a contest about who is easiest to describe correctly.

Readable, verified and trusted

Every AI answer about a local business rests on three things. Miss one and you fall out of the answer even when the other two are strong.

  • Readable

One page for each thing you file: mainland trade licence, free zone package, PRO and visa work, corporate bank account support, licence renewal. Real text, not words baked into a banner image. If you cannot select it with a mouse, a model cannot read it.

  • Verified

The same firm name, address, phone and service list on Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Trustpilot and every free zone or partner page that lists you. ChatGPT search runs on Bing, and Bing Places is the listing almost nobody in this market has touched.

  • Trusted

Recent reviews that say which licence the client got, an office address a model can resolve, and a site that was updated this year. A copyright year two years out of date is a small signal, and small signals agree with each other.

Fix them in that order. A perfect listing pointing at a website the model cannot read still leaves you out of the answer.

Step one: Google Business Profile

Statcounter put Google at 95.8% of UAE search in August 2026, and Google has run AI Mode in the UAE in English and Arabic since October 2025 (Google, October 2025). The profile is the cheapest and fastest thing on this list, and it feeds both the map and the answer.

  • Category and services

Pick the closest primary category, then list your services one by one: company formation, trade licence renewal, visa processing, corporate bank account support. Vague categories produce vague answers.

  • The address people can find

Business Bay, JLT, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Al Maryah Island, Al Majaz. Say the district. It is how buyers and models both narrow the field.

  • Questions and answers

Seed the questions section yourself with the ones you get on the first call: how long a licence takes, what documents you need, whether the visa is included.

  • Photos of the office

Not stock. A model does not read the photo, but a profile with real photos gets used, gets reviewed and stays live.

The citation spine for business setup in the UAE

This industry has no gatekeeper directory, which is the whole opportunity. Our research found the ranking pages for these questions are mostly consultancies ranking themselves. That means the surfaces below are thinly held.

  • Google Business Profile and Maps

The only universal trust signal here, and the place where review volume decides who gets named.

  • Trustpilot

A structured, quotable credential. A model can read a rating and a review count off it in one pass.

  • Free zone official pages

IFZA, Meydan, DMCC, SHAMS and RAKEZ. When someone asks which free zone is cheapest, the model grounds on the authority page, then names a consultant who explains it.

  • u.ae and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism

The factual anchor for licence types and fees. A page of yours that agrees with the government page tends to get cited next to it.

  • Clutch and GoodFirms

The two business to business directories that actually surfaced in our checks. Keep the service list identical to your site.

  • Gulf News, Khaleej Times, Zawya and Arabian Business

The credibility layer. One quoted comment from your managing partner on a licensing story is worth more than a month of posts.

Bilingual details, and why they matter here

Under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020, Article 26, data, advertisements and contracts related to the consumer shall be made in Arabic, with other languages permitted in addition. Most setup firms in this market publish in English only.

For AI visibility the practical version is narrower and easier. Your name, address and phone should read the same in English and in Arabic on every listing that offers both, and the phone should carry the +971 country code everywhere. A model that sees two spellings of one office treats them as two weaker businesses rather than one strong one.

The pages an assistant lifts from

Assistants answer questions. Your website has to contain the answers, on pages, in sentences someone could read out loud.

  • A fees page

The single most quoted page in this industry, and the one nobody wants to write. Consultancy fee guides for 2026 put mainland trade licences at roughly AED 10,000 for a basic professional licence up to AED 25,000 for general trading. Those are self published consultancy numbers, not a Department of Economy and Tourism schedule, so say so on the page and say what your own service fee adds.

  • One page per licence route

Mainland, each free zone you actually work with, and offshore if you file it. Not one services page listing twelve things.

  • A comparison page

Mainland against free zone, and free zone against free zone, written honestly. Our research found the competing listicles on these questions are weak, so a real comparison can replace them.

  • A team page

Names, roles, years in the UAE and languages spoken. This is what a model reads when it decides whether you are a real firm or a landing page.

  • An FAQ block on every one of those pages

Three or four sentences per answer. How long it takes, what documents are needed, what happens at renewal.

Put the answer at the top of every page. Two or three sentences a reader, or a model, can lift whole and still be right.

Schema and reviews

Add LocalBusiness or ProfessionalService structured data with your legal name, address including the emirate, the +971 phone, opening hours and the areas you serve, plus FAQPage markup on the question blocks. Structured data does not make you the answer on its own. It removes the doubt that keeps you out of it.

Then ask for reviews that name the job. My licence came through in nine days and they handled the visa is a sentence a model can use. Great service is not. Ask every client at handover, in writing, with a direct link, and never offer anything in exchange.

Semrush found that when ChatGPT search cites a page, that page ranks 21st or worse in ordinary search almost 90% of the time (Semrush, July 2025). Being on page one of Google is a different job from being in the answer.

The short version

What to do this week.

Twelve things, in order. None of them needs a developer, an agency or a budget, and every one of them is checkable by you.

  1. 01Open ChatGPT in a logged out window and ask how much it costs to set up a company in Dubai in 2026. Write down every firm it names.
  2. 02Run the same question in Perplexity and in Google AI Mode. The three answers rarely match, and the gaps are where you can move.
  3. 03Claim Google Business Profile and Bing Places, and make the name, address, phone and service list identical on both.
  4. 04Add the +971 code to every listed phone number, and check the Arabic spelling of your firm name is the same everywhere it appears.
  5. 05Publish the fees page, with the sources for any government figure you quote and a clear line on what your own fee covers.
  6. 06Publish one page per licence route you genuinely file, each opening with a three sentence answer.
  7. 07Publish a mainland against free zone comparison page that a founder could act on without calling you.
  8. 08Put a team page up with real names, roles and languages spoken.
  9. 09Add LocalBusiness or ProfessionalService and FAQPage structured data, then test it in Google's Rich Results Test.
  10. 10Ask your last ten clients for a review, and ask them to name the licence they got.
  11. 11Claim your Trustpilot profile and keep the service list the same as on your website.
  12. 12Set a reminder to re-run the ten questions in 30 days and compare the screenshots.

Questions

What owners ask about this.

What do founders actually search before they ask an assistant?
Business setup in Dubai is the phrase, at about 9,900 searches a month in the UAE, with company formation Dubai adding another 1,600 (Google Keyword Planner, UAE, August 2025 to July 2026). Those two are the doorway. The decision itself happens one question deeper, in a chat: mainland or free zone for a consultant, what a licence and visa cost together in 2026, which free zone suits a UK expat. Write the pages that answer the second set and the first set takes care of itself.
Does ChatGPT really name specific business setup firms in Dubai?
Yes. Ask it which consultant a freelancer should use for a Dubai licence and it usually names two to five firms with a sentence about each. That short list is what is worth competing for, because Bain and Company found about 60% of searches now end without anyone clicking through to a website (Bain and Company, February 2025).
Do I have to publish prices?
You do not need a fixed price list. You do need to say something useful: what the government fee range looks like, what your service fee covers, and what a renewal costs. Assistants answer cost questions from pages that state numbers and skip firms that state nothing. If you quote a government figure, name where it came from.
We already rank on Google. Is that not enough?
It helps, and it is a different job. Semrush found the pages ChatGPT cites rank 21st or worse almost 90% of the time (Semrush, July 2025), because a model reads for facts it can state, not for ranking signals. Keep the SEO. Add the work that makes you quotable.
How long does this take?
Listing and structured data corrections usually show up within weeks. Being named consistently across a set of ten buyer questions normally takes 60 to 90 days, because reviews and new pages have to be crawled and then repeated across sources.
