Short answer

An assistant names the accounting firms it can match to a task and then check. Your site has to say, task by task, what you do: corporate tax registration and returns, VAT, bookkeeping, audit, liquidation. It has to say who each service is for, which emirate you work from, and whether you are on the FTA register of tax agents. Those facts then have to agree on your Google profile and the directories.

Owners do not ask for an accountant in general. They ask who can file corporate tax for a one person free zone company, or who does VAT for an online shop. A firm whose homepage says audit, tax and advisory in one line has nothing an assistant can match to that.

64% of working age people in the UAE used AI at the end of 2025, the highest share of any country (Microsoft AI Economy Institute, January 2026). The founder who used to ask a friend for an accountant now reads one paragraph with three or four firm names in it, and calls one.

What happens when an owner asks AI for an accountant

The question carries the task and the company type. Which firm handles audit for a free zone company in Dubai. Who can register my company for corporate tax in Sharjah. How much does an accountant cost a month in Abu Dhabi. The answer is a short paragraph with a handful of firms by name.

On 22 September 2026 we put the question best accounting firm for a small business to Google AI Mode for Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. It named five firms in each city, fifteen in all, and not one firm appeared in more than one city. The answer is local and it is still open.

Deadlines drive the asking. The FTA set 30 September 2026 as the last day to file and pay corporate tax for years that ended on 31 December 2025, and returns are due within nine months of the end of each tax period (FTA, 26 September 2026). Firms with other year ends file on other dates, so the questions arrive all year.

Matched, checked and trusted

Three things hold up every answer about a firm. Accounting sites usually fail the first, because they describe the firm and not the task.

  • Matched

A page for each task you want to be named for, with the company type and the emirate in it: corporate tax for free zone companies, VAT for ecommerce, bookkeeping for startups, audit for free zone renewals, liquidation.

  • Checked

The same firm name, address, +971 number and website on Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Clutch and the FTA register entry, with the tax agent accreditation number shown where it applies.

  • Trusted

Reviews that say which task you handled, partner pages with qualifications and licences, and dates on the pages so a model can see they were checked after the last rule change.

Work through them top down. A polished homepage sitting on a site with no task pages is the gap we meet most often in this trade.

Step one: the Google Business Profile

Nearly every search in the UAE runs through Google, 93.5% of them in September 2026 by Statcounter's count, and AI Mode has been live here in Arabic and English since October 2025 (Google, October 2025). The profile is where a model first learns what an accounting firm actually does.

  • Category

Accountant, tax consultant or auditor as the primary category, whichever is your main line. Add the others as secondary categories rather than leaving them out.

  • Services

List each task on its own line: corporate tax registration, corporate tax return filing, VAT registration, VAT return filing, bookkeeping, audit, liquidation. A bundle called compliance package tells a model nothing.

  • Questions and answers

Seed the questions section with what new clients ask on the first call: do you handle free zone companies, do you work with Xero or Zoho, can you file if we are late.

  • Name and area

The trade name exactly as on your licence, plus the building and the area, so a question that names a district can be matched to your office.

The citation spine for accounting firms in the UAE

These are the surfaces that a model leans on when it names an accountant here. The second is the one only this profession has.

  • Google Business Profile and Maps

The local pack, and the reviews a model reads first.

  • The FTA register of tax agents

A public, searchable list with the accreditation number, the firm, the emirate, the tax types and a website. The FTA itself points taxpayers to it in its deadline notices.

  • Clutch

A UAE accounting category with verified client reviews. It showed up in the Google top ten for corporate tax consultant questions in our research.

  • The Xero advisor directory

Lists firms with staff trained in Xero and at least eight clients on it. Useful when an owner asks for an accountant who works with their software.

  • Bing Places

The source ChatGPT search reads. Free, quick, and missing for most UAE firms.

  • The tax desks

Gulf News and Khaleej Times corporate tax and e-invoicing coverage. A partner quoted on a deadline story is an outside mention a model can find.

The pages an assistant quotes

Owners ask about a task, a deadline and a price. The pages that get quoted answer all three in plain words.

  • One page per task

Who needs it, what you need from the client, the deadline in the FTA's own words, what you deliver and in how many days.

  • A pricing page with ranges

How much does an accountant cost per month is one of the ten questions. Publish your own ranges and what moves them, such as transaction volume, number of bank accounts and VAT status.

  • A page per company type

Free zone, mainland, ecommerce, restaurants, holding companies. Each one has different questions, and the assistant matches the company type the owner names.

  • A deadlines page

The corporate tax return window, VAT return dates and the e-invoicing timeline, each linked to the FTA or Ministry of Finance page it comes from, with the date you last checked.

  • Partner pages

Name, qualifications, the FTA accreditation number where they hold one, and the Ministry licence where they audit.

Reviews that name the task

A review that says the firm registered us for corporate tax and filed our first return on time is usable in an answer. Five stars with no words is not. Ask after a filing is accepted, with a direct link, and never offer anything for the review.

When you reply, do not discuss the client's tax position. FTA Decision No. 1 of 2024 gives 100 black points for sharing a taxpayer's information with a third party without written consent, and a public reply is read by third parties.

Almost 90% of the pages ChatGPT cites rank 21st or worse in ordinary Google results, so a page one position is not what gets you named (Semrush, July 2025). A firm can sit on page one for accountant Dubai and still be missing from the answer about free zone audits.

The short version

What to do this week.

Ten things, in order. None of them needs a developer, an agency or a budget, and every one of them is checkable by you.

  1. 01 Ask ChatGPT, logged out, who can file corporate tax for a free zone company in your city, and write down every firm it names.
  2. 02 Put the same question to Perplexity and Google AI Mode and save a dated screenshot of each answer.
  3. 03 List every task as a separate service on your Google profile.
  4. 04 Publish one page per task, with the company type and the emirate in the title.
  5. 05 Check your FTA register entry and make its website and firm name match your site exactly.
  6. 06 Print the tax agent accreditation number on the corporate tax and VAT pages.
  7. 07 Claim Bing Places, Clutch and the Xero directory listing if you qualify, with the same details.
  8. 08 Publish a pricing page with your own ranges and what changes them.
  9. 09 Ask clients who have just had a filing accepted for a review that names the task.
  10. 10 Ask the five questions again after 30 days and count the answers that name you.

Questions

What owners ask about this.

Does ChatGPT really name specific accounting firms?
Yes. Ask who can do VAT for an ecommerce business in Dubai and it usually names a few firms. On 22 September 2026 Google AI Mode named five firms each for Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah for the same small business question, with no firm shared between the cities.
We are not a registered tax agent. Can we still be named?
For bookkeeping, accounting and advisory questions, yes. Do not describe the firm as an FTA tax agent, because the FTA prohibits practising as one without registration. If corporate tax representation matters to your clients, the register is worth joining for the answer alone.
Should we publish our prices?
Publish ranges if you can stand behind them. Cost is one of the ten questions owners ask, and an assistant that finds no price on your site will quote somebody else's. Say what moves the price so the range is honest.
How long does this take?
A corrected profile or register entry can be picked up in a few weeks. Turning up for most of the five questions usually takes 60 to 90 days, since new task pages and reviews must be crawled and then echoed by other sources.
